Weekend Harvest

This weekend was mostly spent by ourselves which was good time for me to catch up on some of the garden maintenance that has been ignored as of late. I was also able to harvest a little out of our garden despite our lack of summer this year.
My favorite "Patty Pan Squash" and "Ichiban" Eggplant

The tomato's are so few but had this nice little pick of Italian Roma, Sun Gold Cherries and Chocolate Cherries.
I had a need to try something different this last spring so I planted six "fingerling" potatoes, the tag said French purple fingerling's, but they look red to me. I harvested plenty enough for the kitchen and enough for seed next year as well.
I think this will be the last of the blueberries this season, we had a great crop this year and are all frozen for this winter.
No she is not part of the harvest, just a little waif come to stay at Menagerie Manor until she has recuperated enough to be released. She had a good time watching me clean and store the 93 garlic heads that had been hung drying on the wall behind her enclosure.
And an updated photo showing how our giant pumpkin is progressing

  2. I love the look of your potatoes, Doc. And everything else looks great, too.
Glad to hear you had a fairly quiet weekend.
    Have a great day!

  3. Nice harvest Doc!! I haven't been successful with my squash this year. Either it was planted in a bad spot (crappy clay soil) or the moles dug the under roots. *sigh* Maybe next year! I'm growing Ichiban this year too! Yummy!
