I shall update this post occasionally as I promised Matron of "Down on the Allotment" blog. If any of you are interested in growing vegetables Matron is quite the vegetable guru so check it out.

Very vigorous starts
April 19, 2011
The arrival of "Mrs. Fortune's climbing beans from "Matron of Down on The Allotment".
Glad they arrived safely! You will love those purple flowers!ReplyDelete
I'm very much looking forward to them.
Matron is one of my favorite garden gurus! She really knows her stuff! And doesn't mind sharing her knowledge! That's quite a healthy looking climbing bean!ReplyDelete
Looks like a great start, Doc. :)ReplyDelete
I can't wait to see what this bean looks like! Are they supposed to be dried beans? I'm trying some to be dried this year. My first time. Still not entirely sure what to do with them. I look forward to your updates on these beans!ReplyDelete
When your beans grow just leave them on the vine until they mature, they will get large and change color. That is when you pick them and remove the beans, dry them on a paper towel in a sunny window if need be and then package for use in cooking or for growing the following year. We harvest the beans for the table but I always leave a number on the vine for use next growing season.
