In the garden - Hydrangea aspera ‘Hot Chocolate’ - our daughter-in-law’s mother Debbie gave this plant to me in 2016 and it has quickly become one of my favorite Hydrangeas. The flowers are oddly beautiful but the leaves are what really get me. I am always looking for leaf color other than green. When it leafs out they are a rich chocolate color that adds a nice variance of not only color but depth to the garden.
