In my recent post titled "Priority Mail" I documented the arrival of my true strain Endler Guppies. A rare little fish that has become extinct in the wild and nearly impossible to find in the aquarium trade. Last night I was greeted by six new little faces at feeding time. One of two pregnant females gave live birth at some point during the day and the second one is due soon. I have circled two of the six and blacked out the glare of the flash. Sorry, I never professed to be a photographer.

how exciting to have rare guppies...years ago when my son was small we had a little fish bowl with two guppies...male and female...bought at a department store that also sold fish...when she became pregnant my son and I were very excited...then she had the babies and the male ate them...very sad...not quite sure what that taught my son :)

DeleteYes that is a problem with these fish, fortunately I have a sort of maternity ward and as soon as the female is finished I snatch her out in order to keep the babies safe.
Congrats. When we still had 'fish', it was always a delight to see them have offspring; a sign of their well-being.

DeleteIt is a Visio program that I copy and paste the photo into, edit and then save finished product as a photo again. Seems to work.
