And it is about time! We went from two inches of snow one day to sunny and 51 degrees the next, but it seems to be the end of the bad weather and now we have warm rain with a few dry spells but mostly rain. The nice thing is that the flowers are starting to bloom and the trees are starting to leaf. So I thought I would post a few snaps of what is in bloom around the gardens and the greenhouse.
Under the canopy of the Coast Redwood our bed of Acanthus has stayed green and lush. Most Years around February they look like cooked lettuce laying in a gooey mess on the ground.
My last post I have a photo of these very same Magnolia blooms covered in snow, well they made it through and the fragrance is intoxicating.
The Hellebore's are very nice this year
These double Narcissus I got in a grab bag and then forgot to plant them. When summer came I was cleaning out the garden shed and found them fairly dried up but planted them anyway and voila!
And Fresh From the Greenhouse
Phalaenopsis 'Yellow Beauty'
Beallara 'Tropic Splendor - Everglades' a very fragrant orchid
